After the earthquake that touched the coastal area of Algeria and made numerous of victims (2,278 casualties and 11,450 wounded and left 15,000 people homeless), our project had for objective to revive the practice of sports amongst young children in the commune of Bourmedes. A football tournament was organised along with the creation of teams with teenagers from 13 to 15 years old from different neighbourhoods, whom were all given sports equipment. Our will was to turn this football tournament into the annual event of the city of Bourmedes. In the medium term, our objective is to extend our operation and activities to other age groups of the population of Bourmedes and launch renovation sites with the help of the commune’s teenagers in order to renovate existing sports facilities.
In the long term, our objective is to extend to other disciplines of sport and to the demanding regions of Algeria, with the close collaboration of other humanitarian associations specialised in the domains of health, care and education as well as with the Algerian institutions.
