For the first time in history, the city of Rio organised the Olympic and Paralympic summer games in August 2016. The association UVS International, in collaboration with Sportstory, launched a humanitarian and solidarity project around education through sports, in hopes that such an event would finally bring durable aid to a local association.
The 2016 Solida’rio objective as to benefit the non-governmental association Terr’Ativa, located in the heart of the favela Morro do Fubà, to renovate the premises where educational and cultural activities and build a sports ground in the school of the favela.
This project was sponsored by Gévrise Emane, three-time Judo world champion and was equally supported by the French federation of Olympic fencing, the French federation of judo and the Adidas group.
